Join us on June 29th from 10:00am–4:00pm for a full-day Wet Felting Handbag Workshop where you’ll create a stunning, one-of-a-kind handbag using luxurious natural fibres including alpaca, merino wool, and specialty wools.
Wet felting is a traditional fibre art technique that uses warm water, soap, agitation, and rolling to bind loose natural fibres together into a strong, durable fabric. During this immersive hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to carefully layer fibres, build texture and shape, incorporate colour and design elements, and felt the fibres into a seamless wearable piece of art.
Throughout the day, participants will work through the complete felting process — from fibre layout and resist shaping to rolling, fulling, and finishing techniques — while creating a functional handbag that is both beautiful and practical. Each bag will be completely unique, reflecting your own artistic style and fibre choices.
This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as experienced fibre artists looking to explore wet felting techniques in a creative and supportive environment. All participants will leave with a finished handcrafted handbag and the skills to continue exploring the art of wet felting at home.
