Ariya Alpacas

January 28, 2026 — Today I received our first batch of AOA registrations, and it’s fascinating to see how our breeding program has evolved over the past 17 years. Reflecting on the genetic investments we’ve made, the results are clearly evident in these registration certificates. They showcase the complete package we’ve been striving for in the alpacas we produce.

It’s always exciting to work with a herd sire (Ariya Everlasting's One of a Kind) who consistently produces dense, well-organized fleece with beautiful structure, exceptional brightness, and impressively uniform fibre. I’ve been reviewing some of this season’s cria fleece taken November 30/25  and I just couldn’t wait to share a few photos.

For each sample, I’ve been analysing staple length, counting crimps per inch, assessing brightness, and checking micron uniformity. These details give me a deeper understanding of each cria’s potential and help guide my breeding decisions for next season.

J’ai commencé à examiner certaines toisons de cette saison, et je n’ai pas pu résister à l’envie d’en partager quelques photos.

Pour chaque échantillon, j’analyse la longueur de la fibre, je compte le nombre de frisures par pouce, j’évalue la brillance et je vérifie l’uniformité du micron. Ces informations me donnent une meilleure compréhension du potentiel de chaque cria et me guident dans mes décisions d’accouplement pour la prochaine saison.
